At UTS we are proud of our diversity and the range of perspectives that each student brings. How can we ensure that our teaching and learning engages all students?

Hear from experts teaching high school students in some of the most diverse and challenging areas of NSW and learn how teachers use innovative and authentic teaching strategies to engage all learners.  Following this, hear directly from UTS students about what inclusion in the classroom looks like to them and their experiences as students at UTS. At the end of the session you will have the opportunity to reflect on the students you are teaching and, using empathy, develop insight into their needs as diverse learners at UTS.

Presented by Lisa Aitken (Center for Social Justice and Inclusion) who specialises in working on innovative teaching and learning design with disadvantaged high schools in NSW, this workshop will allow you to consider what inclusion looks like in education and how you can better understand and cater for your students.
