10:00 am - 11:00 am - LX.lab CB06.04.020
This session will be run by staff from Faculty of Transdisciplinary and Innovation (FTDi) and showcase the different ways they engage industry partners in the classroom. Currently, FTDi utilise industry partners in every subject, as guest speakers, project partners and panel members.
During the first half of the Bachelor of Technology and Innovation, the students undertake a series of project-based subjects which aim to create a transdiscipline learning experience through solving real complex problems with the involvement of industry partners. In these subjects, we have industry partners who provide the project brief and co-create novel opportunity spaces with students, as well as industry partners who partake as experts in panels. From these subjects, students have learned to work professionally in teams and network with industry whilst providing feasible solutions for industry problems. The subjects have shown great success, with student driven projects being picked up by the industry partners and implemented into their companies.
Come along to this session to hear about how and why and we do this, the impact it has on students, and about our Vice Chancellor’s Teaching and Learning grant on how to onboard industry partners into your subjects.
