2020 has seen a rapid transition to remote learning and a big challenge has been the translation of practical classes to an online environment. Please join us as two innovative panellists share their approaches. Dr Angus Gentle will be discussing the implementation of online practicals in Applied Electronics and Interfacing and Kia Angus will share her approach to online practicals in Principles of Scientific Practice and Chemistry 1.

Panellists

Kia Angus is a casual academic in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences here at UTS, where she teaches chemistry. She is also a dance teacher and trivia buff, making the semi-finals of Mastermind Australia.

Dr Angus Gentle is a lecturer in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. He has a research interest in the area of optical/thermal experiment physics.

Facilitators

Ann Wilson is a senior HEA fellow and curriculum developer in the IML at UTS. She coordinates the Teaching for learning futures development program and has been involved with the LX transformation project and the development of materials for the remote learning environment.

Leslie McInnes is a senior educational designer in IML with an ongoing involvement in the implementation of online and blended learning strategies. She also has a particular interest in ePortfolios and their role in providing authentic assessment opportunities.
