Portfolium will be undergoing changes in 2022, which will provide a different student learning experience in 2023. We will update this resource as these changes are implemented at UTS.
You can continue to plan for portfolio-based learning for your subject. If you are considering using Portfolium in Spring 2022, please consult with the LX.lab via https://lxlabservices.uts.edu.au
The glossary below provides you with definitions of common Portfolium terms and features. To explore the features in more detail, click through to more information via the links in the table.
Term | Definition |
Folio | A Folio is an online portfolio, also referred to as an ePortfolio, containing a media-rich visual dossier of work, achievements and more. |
Profile | A Profile is a user’s unique customisable online account including name, profile photo, cover photo etc. |
Profile Strength | The Profile Strength Meter shows you how complete your profile is and offers suggestions to improve your profile. |
Project | For example, when you add items such as Accomplishments, Employment, Education Qualifications, Publications, Clubs or Affiliations to your digital portfolio, these can be substantiated with visual evidence called a Project. Projects can contain links to publications, photos, videos, official documentation like a degree transcript or awards and other embedded content. A Portfolium Folio can hold numerous projects. |
Network (Connections) | Your network (connections) are people you have requested to be connected with and who have accepted your request. By default your Portfolium profile or portfolio won’t be searchable or found by other people either within your network or outside your network. Your digital portfolio is private. If you would like to be found by colleagues, friends or employers you can update your privacy settings to allow people in your network to view your profile. You and your connections can like or comment on each other’s content. You can also message people in your network or tag them as teammates on projects. You can build your network through the Connections link. |
Suggestions | The Suggestions tab highlights companies, jobs, projects, and people you may be interested in following as you grow your network. These suggestions are based on information you have added to your profile, including schools you have attended, your course, your location, etc. |
Discover | The Discover page allows you to discover content from across Portfolium. The Discover page includes staff and expert picks, trending content, and categories so you can easily filter to see projects relevant to your background. |
Username URL | Your username URL is an auto-generated URL that is made for you when your account is created. It is the URL that only your network connections can see and use to connect with you. People outside your network cannot access your username URL. |
Private Profile Share Link | Your private profile share link is different to your Username URL. You can use this link to share your private Portfolium profile/digital portfolio with anyone outside your network/connections, e.g. a friend or employer who doesn’t use Portfolium or is not connected to you. Your unique private profile share link is available via your Profile Privacy Settings. |
