About the event

This year’s WIL Symposium is putting the spotlight on the WIL practices of colleagues from across faculties. Using the interactive world café style approach, our presenters will explain their WIL practices to small groups, and then together unpack the gems of WIL and how they can be further polished. There will be plenty of opportunities for dialogue, feedback and learning for your WIL practices.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is the transition space from student to professional where students learn from and with disciplinary professionals and start to develop their own professional values and ambitions.

Why should I attend?

  • To learn how others are ensuring professional practice skills, industry engagement and authentic assessment are interwoven in the foundational, developmental, and professional phases of the student learning journey.
  • To get involved, share stories, solve challenges, and inspire others.
  • To engage with the student perspective through networking and a student panel.
  • To grow your professional network.
  • To seize this great opportunity to engage with the UTS WIL Quality Framework and how it resonates with the Student Experience Framework.

Program:

  • Keynote address from Professor Kylie Readman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education and Students)
  • UTS Quality WIL Framework – presented by Professor Franziska Trede
  • World Cafe – a small group sharing exercise featuring UTS academics presenting their experiences and insights about quality WIL
  • Q&A
  • Reflections from a student panel
