11:00 am - 12:00 pm - Zoom – further details provided upon registration
Level
Beginner
Who should attend this session?
Teaching staff who would like to learn more about how to be inclusive in their teaching.
Professional staff are welcome to attend.
What will you learn?
For those who rely on screen readers, such as those who have low vision, are blind or have cognitive or learning impacts, images on a webpage or in a document can be challenging to perceive without some help from you. Providing meaningful alternative text (or alt text) for your images goes a long way to helping these individuals ‘read’ and interpret the images you have included in your learning materials.
In this 45-minute session, you will explore:
- what alternative (alt) text is
- how to add alt text to your images and H5P activities
- tips on how to write meaningful alt text
You will also have an opportunity to practice writing alt text for images.
