Earlier this year, various academic support teams were united to form the Education Portfolio. This enabled us to connect the on-the-ground support services, faculty partnerships, strategic projects and new online offerings. It brings together learner designers and media producers from the former LX.lab and PGLD teams, and connects the data specialists in the CIC team with our experts in teaching and curriculum.
But what does this mean for you in terms of getting support in the lead-up to and during Spring session?
The LX Lab: your home for help
The friendly, familiar faces of our support team at the LX Lab remain a core part of the Education Portfolio. There is always someone to assist in person at our fishbowl space on campus (CB06.04.020). Alternatively, we have online consultations – a popular choice for academics since the pandemic resulted in flexible ways of teaching. Log a request so we can be fully prepared to set you up for success.
If you have a quick question about any of our supported learning technologies, our live chat is available weekdays 10am-4pm. You can also check out our detailed online resources for more in-depth advice.
Don’t forget about our wide range of workshops and interactive online sessions, which you can view via our events page. The easiest way to be kept informed is by subscribing to our weekly newsletter of news, resources and upcoming workshops.
Educational media support
Creating videos for your subject? You can request Media Production support via ServiceConnect. The Education Portfolio’s EdMedia Team can help you create videos and audio recordings, and assist with editing and trimming your video content.
Assistance from the UTS Library
Prepare your teaching for Spring session quickly and easily with assistance from UTS Library, who can help you:
- create and manage your subject Reading Lists for required and recommended readings in your subject
- get resources on Reading Lists, including navigation, reviewing and running reports and common Reading List FAQs
- find and embed discipline-specific Study Guides to provide your students with direct links to the most relevant resources and referencing information by subject
- select and use copyrighted content in your teaching materials
If you require further help, you can chat with a librarian online or request a 1:1 consultation for personalised support including locating discipline specific learning materials and setting up training for your students on locating library resources and research strategies for their assignments.
