Motion graphics and animations can add a lot of production value to your videos. They can help make your recordings feel more polished and professional, and in some cases help with engagement. UTS has branded templates that can be used to assist with your video editing.
It is a requirement to follow the UTS branding and style guidelines for all marketing and external videos. For videos intended for internal use (e.g. educational content), these rules are more relaxed.
You can find the current UTS branded templates via StaffConnect. They are updated regularly. The StaffConnect page includes templates for PowerPoint presentations, infographics, video graphics and more. These help to provide a more consistent way of representing UTS to stakeholders and colleagues, and support accessibility through clear fonts, colours and information hierarchies.
Motion graphics are a useful way to make your videos appear more polished and professional. These animations are downloadable at the bottom of the StaffConnect branded templates page.
Below are some of the types of graphics and how they can be used within your editing program; you just need to add your own text. To discover more information about the preferred text and fonts, refer to the fonts section.
Use these at the start of your video to introduce your video’s topic, speaker and more.
These are great for listing the speaker’s name, role and faculty.
These make great outros and help brand the video while meeting compliance requirements. These assets are updated annually, so make sure you have the correct one at the start of the new year.
The UTS licensed fonts are NB International (heading typeface) and NB Akademie (body copy typeface). However, access to these fonts is limited. You can request a license for these fonts by contacting MCU. Alternatively, you can use Arial font, which is the substitute font that meets UTS brand guidelines.
If you are creating a video that uses a lot of PowerPoint slides, particularly an external video, it’s a good idea to use UTS branded PowerPoint templates because they are accessible and well-designed.
