Developing a digital portfolio can cultivate critical thinking and reflective skills, integrate learning across different disciplines, and allow demonstration of work through multiple modes. These guiding principles can help your students to plan their portfolios.
We have developed these guiding principles to help you plan your portfolio-based learning and teaching strategies, using Portfolium as your digital platform tool.
An individual’s portfolio in Portfolium consists of a profile and multiple projects which can be set to a public and/or private audience. To leverage its affordances, a portfolio should be:
We recommend that formative and/or summative tasks guiding students towards the development of their portfolio for Portfolium should reflect the faculty graduate attributes. These tasks should also be designed with equity, inclusivity, and diversity in mind.
As Portfolium is a public platform that allows users to upload and share artefacts online, it is important for you to be aware of the UTS Portfolium Terms of Use, and ensure that your students understand these as well.
