Enhancing Teaching@UTS is a program for all UTS academics. It aims to support you to develop the understanding, capability and confidence to teach subjects drawing on good practice principles aligned to the UTS distinctive approach. As well as encouraging innovative teaching with a strong focus on student learning and the student experience, the program also aims to connect you with resources and community across disciplines and the Education Portfolio to promote ongoing support and collaboration.
What can you expect from this program?
This is a 10-week online program consisting of five 1.5-hour online workshops in the Spring 2024 teaching session. You will also be invited to join a Teams site to connect and collaborate with each other.
Over the 10 weeks of this program, you will:
- Reflect on the opportunities and challenges within your teaching context and identify areas of inquiry that interest you.
- Consider the alignment between your teaching practice, the key elements of effective and inclusive teaching, and the UTS distinctive approach.
- Apply design principles to the development and teaching of your subjects to enhance student learning.
- Enhance your feedback and assessment strategies to promote student success.
- Explore tools and methods to engage students using technology.
- Develop strategies for evaluating and reflecting on your practice.

- You, Your Context, Your Learners – 30 August, 12:30 – 2:00pm
- Designing for Learning – 13 September, 12:30 – 2:00pm
- Engaging Students Using Technology – 27 September, 12:30 – 2:00pm
- Feedback and Assessment – 11 October, 12:30 – 2:00pm
- Reflective Practice and Next Steps – 25 October, 12.30 – 2.00pm
