Exploring the current and future state of our disciplinary fields allows us to reimagine how courses and programs might be changed to meet – and shape – the future needs of society. They also bring a way to consider the future of work for our graduates, including for jobs that are not yet there, and how we might design our courses so they equip graduates to play an active role in these futures.

This session will immerse you in imagining the current and future state of your discipline through a playful technique of co-design using foresight methods and ‘making’ tools. Whether you are a seasoned futures thinker or just curious about participatory collective imagining, we encourage you to come along – bring others from your course and/or discipline, a pair of scissors and an open mind!

Following this workshop we hope to establish a regular community at LX Lab for UTS staff to share futuring approaches and methodologies and showcase examples of student work so that we can continue to connect, inspire and learn from each other.

Facilitated by Dr. Susanne Pratt, Giedre Kligyte and Jan McLean.
