Want to develop your teaching and enhance your subjects but are not sure how to go about it?

UTS has several programs designed to support you to do this, including the Teaching for learning.futures program and the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning.

We invite you to come along to an introductory session where we’ll discuss the key ideas underpinning the UTS approach to learning and teaching and provide you with more detail about these programs and why you might do them. As this session is run in a blended mode you’ll also get to experience using UTSOnline as a participant rather than a teacher, and to meet some of your colleagues who are also interested in developing their teaching. Detail is provided below.

Introduction session for Learning and Teaching at UTS:

Tuesday 13 February 2018 at 2.00-4.30pm in the LX.Lab, building 6, level 4, room 020.

This session provides the introduction to the two formal programs on learning and teaching at UTS that are offered by the IML during 2018. Prior to this session we will invite you to introduce yourselves online, and complete some very short activities before the face to face session on the 13th.  To attend the Introduction to Learning and Teaching at UTS you can register online.

Teaching for Learning.Futures:

This blended program supports academics to develop the understanding, capability and confidence to teach subjects aligned with learning.futures – UTS’s university-wide approach to blended learning.  It comprises five modules across the core areas of teaching, designing, assessing and evaluating to enhance learning and the student experience. More information outlining the program of online activities and face-to-face classes is available here.

Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning (GradCertHEd):

The two foundation subjects are a core part of the Development Program for academic staff appointed at levels A and B. Past participants, both experienced and new to teaching, have found the subjects useful for extending their understanding of teaching and student learning. We recommend that you participate in the foundation subjects without formally enrolling and claim credit later if you wish to do the two project subjects to complete the course. More information on the GradCertHEd course is available here.
