1:00 pm - 2:30 pm - LX.lab CB06.04.020
Are you designing a new subject, or redesigning an existing subject – and not quite sure where to start? Why not consider using the ABC learning design method to help get you started?
Based on Professor Dianna Laurillard’s Conversational Framework model of learning and developed at UCL, the ABC Learning Design method is a team-based approach to rapid subject design. Centered on the 6 types of learning described in Conversational Framework, this method will give you an easy way to describe and discuss the student learning process.
What to expect
In this 90 min hands-on, in person interactive workshop, we will lead you through the ABC learning design method, with the following activities:
- describe your subject in 140 characters or less
- map your subject as an interactive storyboard
- plan your subject content by module, topic or week
- outline the sequence of learning activities across the session for your subject
At the end of this workshop, you will have a plan you can use to develop your subject in Canvas, as well as remind you of key decisions made during the workshop.
Bring along your subject outline with your subject learning outcomes. If possible, invite your teaching team or colleagues to join you (and us) in this workshop, as well.
