2020 has seen a rapid transition to remote learning, a steep learning curve for ourselves and our students. In this webinar two UTS academics will share their experiences of working remotely. Georgina Meakin will share her experience of converting a laboratory-based DNA recovery class to an interactive Zoom class using everyday items from around the home.

Morgan Philp (Science) will share her experience in transitioning a large practical subject to online delivery.

Panellists

Georgia Meakin is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Science at UTS, with casework experience involving the interpretation and evaluation of forensic DNA evidence.

Morgan Philp is a scholarly teaching fellow in the Faculty of Science at UTS and coordinates a large first-year chemistry subject.

Facilitators

Leslie McInnes is a senior educational designer in IML with an ongoing involvement in the implementation of online and blended learning strategies. She also has a particular interest in ePortfolios and their role in providing authentic assessment opportunities.

Ann Wilson is a senior HEA fellow and curriculum developer in the IML at UTS. She coordinates the Teaching for learning futures development program and has been involved with the LX transformation project and the development of materials for the remote learning environment.
