2:30 pm - 4:00 pm - Zoom – further details provided upon registration
Students Explain Digital Accessibility is a video series in which five UTS students – our Digital Accessibility Ambassadors – draw on their lived experiences of disability to explain what and why you need accessibility for your subject. The short videos focus on simple changes you can make in your practice to ensure that your learning and teaching is accessible for all students.
What we’ll cover:
In this online session, we will unpack what the students have said and explore what this looks like in practice – whether you’re adding your content into Canvas or other digital content channels.
We’ll take a look at the LX Accessible Content Practices and additional resources that can help remove some of the barriers the students explain.
Who should attend this session:
All academic and professional staff are welcome. The focus will be on content in Canvas, but the LX Accessibility Practices can be used across other platforms, e.g. Microsoft Word, websites.
Who is facilitating this session:
- Katie Duncan – LX.lab Inclusive Practices Coordinator
- Rhiannon Hall – Learning & Teaching Digital Content Officer
- Kim Neville – Manager, Human Centred Design & UX
