Across higher education, students are always asking for more timely, more personal feedback — but as all academics know, this is time-consuming to provide. However, the combination of digital data with technology to personalise communications holds significant promise to reduce academic workload.

This hands-on workshop facilitated by Dr. Jurgen Schulte will demonstrate the potential applications of OnTask software for UTS staff. If you are familiar with the idea of providing personal, actionable feedback to students by means of contacting students for personal support via email (e.g. OnTask), this is the session to put your principle ideas into practice and automate this process. We’ll be using examples of student data collected throughout a teaching session and formulate learning analytics based personal learning support strategies. We’ll then transform these strategies (“rules”) into personal support emails with your very personal touch and insight into learning.
