2:00 pm - 2:45 pm - LX.lab CB06.04.020
Who should attend?
All teaching staff, new and experienced, continuing or on contracts, are welcome at this event. This is a chance to meet current U:PASS leaders and learn about their experiences with other students.
What will we explore?
Why U:PASS works
Learn how U:PASS is different from other university classes and why it works so well when students need support.
Murder mystery in chemistry 1
Learn how to reframe learning activities through context to allow for greater student engagement and achievement of learning outcomes without the students thinking of learning activities as a ‘burden’.
Facilitated by U:PASS leaders
This event will be facilitated U:PASS leaders Kieran Banh-Watson and Ethan Krumins.
Kieran is studying Bachelors of Science & International Studies, is interested in healthcare and hopes to move into Medicine. He attended U:PASS classes himself in his first 2 years of university, applied to be a leader in third year and made it in:). He believes the best part of it is seeing other students finally understand something they’ve been struggling with. Outside of study/work he enjoys reading and music.
Ethan is studying a Bachelor of Medical Science, majoring in Medical and Health-related Science. He got involved in U:PASS because of his passion for teaching fellow students during his senior years of high school. He enjoys making a positive impact on students by helping them have ‘lightbulb’ moments in their learning, especially around challenging subjects.
